President's message (Dec. 24, 2010)

E-mail Print PDF

Dear Esteemed AKPA Members,

As 2010 draws to a close, we pause to wish you a warm and Happy Holiday Season and a peaceful and prosperous New Year. We appreciate your steadfast support to AKPA.

It has been a busy year in making noteworthy progress of AKPA activities. We have installed the online registration site of the membership, published three issues of the AKPA Newsletter Vol.28, successfully completed the AKPA Annual Meeting with the OYRA presentation in the Forum on International Physics during the American Physical Society Meeting in Portland, Oregon, and also organized the joint session of AKPA and Korean Physical Society (KPS) during the US-Korea Conference (UKC2010) at Bellevue, Washington, hosted by the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA). As we have engaged in these activities together throughout this past year, we have had many opportunities to reflect upon the tireless efforts of the members and officers who have made our voluntary organization not only sustainable but also enjoyable.

For 2011 and beyond, all our hard work and dedication will not cease or even slow down. We are energized by our achievements from the last year and excited for the future and many more milestones ahead of us. The year of the rabbit should be a peaceful year with an easygoing pace, much welcomed after the year of the tiger. We are looking forward to continuously working together with compassion, creativity and sensitivity. Currently, all the relevant procedures for the OYRA 2011 and the upcoming election of the 30th President and Auditor are in progress. It is also fortunate that we enjoy close friendships with allied organizations such as the KPS in our homeland and the KSEA in US.

Fellow members, we want to take this opportunity to tell you again how much you are valued. All of our AKPA officers and committee members say "Thank You" and wish you and your family "Happy Holidays" and all the best in 2011!

Best Wishes,
Chueng-Ryong Ji AKPA President
