Recent Awardees

The AKPA Outstanding Young Researcher Award (OYRA) 2024

Dear AKPA members:


We are pleased to announce that the 2024 AKPA Outstanding Young Researcher Award (OYRA) will be awarded to   

Dr. Brian S. Y. Kim (Assistant Professor, University of Arizona)

for his exceptional research at the intersection of condensed matter physics and nanotechnology, specifically for his significant contribution to the design and construction of complex heterostructures.


Dr. Isaiah Jinhyuk Lim (Postdoctoral Research Associate, University of Florida)

for his outstanding research contributions in the field of high-pressure and low-temperature experimental physics, notably his exploration of alternative routes for inducing superconductivity, among other endeavors.


This award is jointly sponsored by the Association of Korean Physicists in America (AKPA) and the Korean Physical Society (KPS).
